Sontse is an all-Ukrainian entertainment TV channel.
History[]
On March 21, 2012, Ukrainian production company Studio Pilot received a broadcasting license from the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting. The founders of the TV channel are PE "Studio Pilot", Oleksandr Brykailo and Sergiy Lavrenyuk. The test broadcast took place on February 1, 2013. Full-fledged broadcasting began on February 4.
On August 1, 2018, the channel switched to 16:9 widescreen broadcasting.
In connection with the Russian invasion of the Ukraine, from February 24 to March 25, 2022, CNN rebroadcast (without translation). On February 25, the channel added a sign "Hot news. The World". On March 26, the channel resumed independent
On February 16, 2023, the National Council issued a temporary permit to the channel to broadcast during martial law in Ukraine on the MX-5 DVB-T2 network, and on February 21, the channel began broadcasting.
On October 31, channel won the competition for a license to broadcast in MX-7 of the DVB-T2 digital terrestrial network, and on November 21 channel began broadcasting.
