MopniVision was founded by a consortium of Canadian media entrepreneurs who aimed to provide an alternative to the established national networks. The initial broadcast day on May 15, 1983

1980s[]

In 1988, the network acquired the rights to broadcast the International Games, a major international sporting event, which significantly boosted its viewership and advertising revenue.

1990s[]

In 1992, MopniVision introduced its first permanent screen bug, a small logo displayed in the corner of the screen, a relatively novel practice at the time. This screen bug, a stylized "MV" logo, became a signature element of the network's branding.. September 1995 marked a significant milestone for MopniVision with the premiere of Pixel Gates is premiered on Greek Feed. In the year 1996, MopniVision pioneered the use of NEXT split screens for advertising. This involved dividing the screen during commercial breaks to simultaneously display an advertisement alongside a minimized version of the ongoing program. This innovative approach aimed to keep viewers engaged and prevent them from changing channels during commercials. The NEXT split-screen format has remained a consistent feature of MopniVision's broadcasts to this day.. MopniVision.com, the network's official website, was registered on April 30, 1997. The website initially served as a basic promotional platform, providing program schedules, news updates, and behind-the-scenes content. Over time, the website has evolved into a comprehensive online portal, offering streaming video, interactive features, and social media integration.
