Basma (also known as “Bassma” and “Besma” due to transliteration variations) is a children’s television channel originating out of Saudi Arabia, owned by the Almajd TV Network (شبكة المجد الفضائية) group. It is a pay television channel dedicated to children, with a focus on teaching “the basics such as writing, counting, and reading Arabic,” as per Telemuslim.
It is a sister network to Almajd Kids and Rawdah, channels that broadcast a blend of animated and live-action content and sometimes broadcast dubs that have aired on Btv.
Broadcast[]
Like all the other Almajd group channels, the point of origin of Basma is Dubai, Saudi Arabia. However, their channels can be accessed via Nilesat, Arabsat and MyHD across the Middle Eastern region.

Trivia[]
- The channel is characterized by its strange dubbing, which is having no background music or soundtracks. The intros featured in their dubs are nasheeds, a type of Muslim vocal music usually sung a cappella or, at most, with some percussion instrument. This is because different interpretations of the Qur'an consider the use of musical instruments to be haram (sinful).
- In addition, the dubs are Islamified, causing heavy censorship and the plot itself to change. Which causes some parts of the show's dialogue changed to give it a religious approach.
- In fact, some dubs produced by Basma are heavily influenced by the shows' respective official Arabic dubs.
- Unlike most channels in the Arab world, all of the dubs broadcast by the channel are produced illegally and unauthorized. In fact, most of the shows broadcast by the channel have official and legally made Arabic dubs on popular children's channels in the region, such as MBC3, Aishab, Baraem, Mini, ToonsHouse or Spacetoon, in addition to Arabic localized versions of world-renowned channels, such as Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and the Disney channels.
